About Cabinet & Wardrobe Lights
Cabinet lighting is a thin line of light built into furniture: under kitchen wall units, inside wardrobes, along shelves and in display cases. Done properly you see the light and never the fitting.
Which profile where
- Under a kitchen cabinet: a surface or recessed bar at the front edge, so it lights the worktop and not the wall.
- Inside a wardrobe: a vertical profile on each side, or a corner profile, switched by a door sensor.
- On shelves: a recessed profile at the front of each shelf, aimed back at the contents.
- In corners: a 45° corner profile that throws light into the cabinet.
Common questions
Do cabinet lights need a separate power supply?
Low-voltage strip in a profile needs an LED power supply, sized to the total length. One supply can feed several cabinets.
Why use a profile instead of bare strip?
The profile holds the strip straight, carries heat away, and its diffuser hides the individual LED dots.
