Low-voltage LED lighting — strip, profile, magnetic track, pool and fountain lights — runs from a power supply that converts mains to 12V or 24V. The supply decides how reliably the lighting works, and it is the part most often undersized.
Add up the wattage of everything it will feed and choose a supply rated about 20% higher. Match the voltage exactly: a 12V strip on a 24V supply will fail. Use a rainproof or waterproof supply outdoors and for pools, and keep every supply where it can be reached and has air around it.
The lights may flicker or dim, and the supply runs hot and fails early.
