About Swimming Pool & Fountain Lights
Underwater lights make a pool usable and beautiful at night and bring a fountain or water feature to life. They work fully submerged, so they are built and powered differently from any other outdoor light.
What is different about underwater lighting
- IP68 — the rating for continuous submersion. Nothing less belongs in water.
- Low voltage — pool and fountain lights run on 12V or 24V from a transformer kept outside the water.
- Body — stainless steel or resin-filled housings resist corrosion.
- White or RGB — colour-changing lights come with a remote or controller.
Planning
Pool lights are usually placed on the side walls below the waterline, facing away from the house to avoid glare. Fountain lights sit at the base of each jet. The power supply must be the correct voltage and rated for outdoor use.

How many lights does a pool need?
